Indeed it’s been a long, long time since I wrote anything here.
So why have I come back now?
Well, I guess I have a few new things to share.

First off, we adopted a new puppy in the fall of 2016 and named her Zephyr, see picture below.
Isn’t she cute?
She’s another Goldendoodle, like our Quinley, and the two have become best friends.
So, our little Z is an extra fun-loving addition to our happy household.

Another fun milestone for me, about six months ago I decided to go back to school. That’s right!
I guess some people cope with a mid-life crisis by buying a fancy car or going on an expensive vacation. But oh no, not me. In my crisis, I go back to school.
Hmm…what’s wrong with me? Ha!
In actuality, I haven’t quite hit fifty, yet, or midlife, but I thought The Fifty-Year-Old Freshman was funny, so the title stuck.
The goal is to get my Masters…and quite possibly a Ph.D., but shhh, don’t tell my husband that!
School is damn expensive if you didn’t already know.

And now you might ask, why?
The answer, to be completely candid, is simply because I want the accomplishments. Yes, the degrees may help with my writing and getting published. And perhaps the achievements might open some doors which I haven’t dreamed could appear. However, those are secondary to my simple desire to have their completion.
I never thought I’d be going back to school at my age. But I guess it’s true what they say, we never stop learning…or wanting to at least.
So, I’m excited to be officially a student again.
I promise I will keep you posted.
With that, I must now return to studying for my midterms.
Until next time, Q + Z + me are wishing you a beautiful day!
