Dealing With Disappointing People

July 27, 2015 Stephanie

I hate disappointing people. It’s one of the worst feelings.

Like many of you, women in particular, I give up much of myself for the benefit of others. I think we’re just programmed this way.

I know many of you moms out there would give up everything for your child. Although I don’t have kids, I would do the same for my husband, my family, and my dog.

Sometimes, though, there are moments when we have to disappoint people and all we can do is be hopeful they will realize we might actually be doing them a favor.

More often than not, anyone you disappoint will act like a child, though. They’re so wrapped in their world, they can’t see the big picture and act properly. If they don’t fly off the handle and scream at you, they will ignore you like an immature 12-year-old.

Here’s the thing people, in life there will be disappointments, both ones you give and ones you receive. You, however, have the opportunity to be graceful in either scenario.

I say take it!

Until tomorrow…
