There’s no doubt Corgi puppies are absolutely the cutest. Don’t you just want to squeeze them?
I have a friend who is a Corgi fanatic. I mean seriously over-the-top will watch 24 hours of Corgi puppy videos if she could. I can’t blame her though, they’re stinkin’ cute. So when she sees this post, she’s going to go nuts. Hi Erin!
In case you didn’t know, there are two breeds of Corgis – the Pembroke Welsh corgi and the Cardigan Welsh corgi. Pembroke Welsh Corgis are famed for being the preferred breed of Queen Elizabeth II, who has owned more than 30 during her reign.
The most notable difference between the two is the Cardigan has a long tail, whereas the Pembroke has a bobbed tail. Also, the Pembroke is slightly smaller than the Cardigan, who tends to be slightly heavier set. And the ears of the Cardigan are larger and more rounded at the tips than those of the Pembroke. Cardigans also have more accepted coat colors than Pembrokes.
Corgis make great pets. They were bred as herding dogs so their instinct is to herd and they tend to bark a lot in doing it. And some may nip at your heels, so they’re probably better dogs for families with older kids.
As with any dog, a little training goes a long way. But all in all they would be a great dog to add to your family!
Thanks for stopping by!
